I’m sooo excited to showcase this gorgeous Ceil Chapman, French-textile, 1950s, dress. Ceil Chapman was known for dressing some of the most well known Hollywood Stars. This is the type of dress that dreams are made of. For me, it feels like nothing I’ve ever had the opportunity of dressing in before. You know immediately that you’re in something very special. Pieces from Ceil Chapman’s collection remain on showcase in the The Museum of the City of New York. A true collectors piece.
In my research I haven't come across another dress from her collection that has the Boussac Paris tag.
This dress is in overall excellent vintage condition. There was a paint mark under the arm of the left side near the pit. I have removed most of it and a soft faint blemish still remains, as shown in the last photo, which I believe will come completely out over time. When the dress is on it sits in a very inconspicuous spot.
I would call this dress an XS-Small. There is no stretch in the fabric. As usual please refer to the below measurements for most accurate fit.
